SmartField

We are excited to announce the launch of the SmartField initiative, a groundbreaking project aimed at significantly reducing nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from agricultural lands in Denmark by 2030. With a substantial funding amounting to 134 million DKK from the Novo Nordisk Foundation over the next five years, SmartField will kick off in the second quarter of 2024. SmartField is expected to position Denmark as a global leader in N2O reduction strategies.

Kick-off

On May 27, SmartField hosted a kick-off meeting in Middelfart to launch the 5-year initiative. This will initiate the activities that will position Denmark as a European lighthouse within reduction of nitrous oxide emissions from agriculture.
